SEASONS AT HOPEPRINT

To everything, there is a season.

From our early days, Hopeprint has been in the all-in game. Our first focus community of Syracuse’s Northside was adopted as home by our core starting team, opening up that home to dozens upon dozens of individuals and families from all around the world that we now called neighbors. It was a beautiful mess with a constant stream of relationship, need, beauty, celebration, and so forth.

We knew that one of the most important elements to lasting change is sustainability, so from the onset, we established very clear guidelines around rest and reset - one day a week and two weeks a trimester of complete pause. This rhythm, that would later become known as our Season of Rest and Reset, became a mainstay that has allowed Hopeprint to stay nimble and mindful and an ever-changing world, discourages unhealthy co-dependence, and invites innovation on a cyclical basis.

Today, Hopeprint practices Seasons of Rest and Reset three times a year, at the end of each of our trimesters in April, August, and December. During this time, there are no meetings, no correspondence, no phone calls, no programs, no anything that is ‘business as usual.’ The objective? Unplug, rest, and reset so that you might re-enter with a renewed passion and perspective on the mission that compelled you in the first place. Marathons require pacing.

We hope you will be encouraged to find ways in your life and work to do the same.
